Research
What we've learned from the users.
Design for mobile (we picked iPhone 6 as an exploration of mobile comfort for larger screen sizes).
People usually get exposed to news multiple times a day, mostly through browsing websites.
Popular topics that get listed upfront in the topic customization section.
What we've learned from the competitors.
Acceleration provided for sign-in process.
Personalized comfort level.
"Quote share."
What we've learned from our hands.
With limited research results of mobile handling found online, we initiated our own research.
Hand Sampling - we sampled 20+ hand shapes and thumb shape and record their mobile handle style with assigned tasks using iPhone 5s. However, there is no particular pattern shown through our study.
Reach Zone - "reach zone" and "ouch zone" varies for different screen size.
Handle Style - percentages of different handle styles.
What we've learned from our humors.
"How do you describe your humor? Use 1 word. "
- Sarcastic/ dry seems to be mentioned together a lot.
- Silly/ Goofy.
- People dislike the word "mean" and "dark" as when being described by them.
